Our services - What we do

HWE or Hot Water Extraction is the proces we use on most of our cleans. This carpet or upholstery cleaning process Clean colourful ruginvolves spraying compressed heated water onto the surface at high pressures (depending on the surface we are cleaning) and then extracing the heated water straight back out with a reverse vacuum (blower), obviously the water we extract contains the dirt from the carpet thanks to the use of special chemicals and the sheer power of the machinery. The machinery stays on the Van and the only thing that comes in to your premises are our hoses. 98% Of carpets are cleaned this way in the USA, and the reason for this is obvious, truckmounted carpet cleaner systems are as a rule more powerfull and certainly faster than other systems, our eqiupment means :

  • You have a shorter if any drying time.
  • The job is done faster.
  • No huge machines have to be hauled around your home scuffing furniture and skirting boards.
  • You can see the difference almost instantly.

1) Inspection / Survey

On our first visit we will inspect your carpet/ upholstery. Our inspection includes the identification of your carpet/upholstery including its construction and manufacture, this is important as without properly identifying the item being cleaned damage can actually occur from incorrectly used chemicals and cleaning methods. We also make note of level of soiling and any stains that may require special attention. At this stage we would also point out anything that we could not help with, including burns, permanent wear or damage, staining that may not be completely removed ( no carpet cleaner can guarantee all stains will be removed). At this point we would also give simple advice on how to keep the carpets cleaner longer such as applying a protector or simply strategically placing doormats or carpet runners.

2) Set up cleaning area

On the day of the clean we will move/rearrange any furniture to enable us to reach the clean we will also look for the best route for our hoses to enter the cleaning area with safety being the paramount deciding factor.

3) Concentrated pre clean vacuum

Its is estimated that on average around 60% - 70% of soiling in a carpet is “dry” and there for can be removed with a vacuum cleaner. It is important to note that many household vacuum cleaners are incapable of doing this due to the filters in the vacuum not being fine enough. Our vacuum cleaners do not have this problem and by vacuuming thoroughly in our “east to west” then “north to south” method we can remove a substantial amount of soiling from the carpet. We always start a job with a clean vacuum bag or hopper and will be happy to show you what has been removed.

4) Spotting

Next is the spotting stage, this is the point where we look for staining that would not be removed by our general clean and requires special attention, this includes chewing gum / Blu tack , some food & drink stains, urine stains, paint & oil stains, soot staining and general heavy traffic areas that sometimes need a separate solution to clean them.

5) Pre spray

Using a pressure sprayer we evenly distribute our chosen cleaning solution to your carpet or upholstery. At this stage our solution breaks down the surfaces of soiling within your carpet/upholstery and either emulsifies (encapsulation) or begins to break down the soiling into smaller particles and suspends for easier removal (micro-splitting) depending on the chosen solution.

6) Agitation

To give the solution a hand and to ensure deep rather than surface only cleaning we agitate. Although agitation can be achieved with a simple brush, we have invested in a mechanical agitation system that thanks to its two contra rotating brushes can separate the pile of your carpet ensuring that our solution gets to the bottom of your fibres and also ensures that our cleaning solution comes in contact with as much fibre surface area as possible. This stage is important to avoid “wicking” which happens when a carpet is only cleaned at the top of its fibres leaving the dirt underneath to wick up to the surface during the drying phase usually leaving the need for another clean. Our agitation stage also in many cases reconditions the carpet and because it can lift flattened fibre customers often report a “more springy and resilient” feel to their carpet or upholstery.

7) Extraction

After allowing necessary dwell time for the solution to achieve best possible results we then extract the solution along with the soiling itself. This is where our industry leading truck-mounted carpet/upholstery cleaning machine comes into play, using its 20hp engine, rinsing solution (usually plain water), is heated to around 70 or 80 degrees and then sprayed into your carpet/upholstery at around 400Psi having a further agitation and loosening effect on the soiling in your carpet/upholstery, it is extracted or “sucked out” by a powerful reverse blower that creates a powerful vacuum and allows fantastic airflow to remove the solution, rinse and soiling all in one go. This awesome cleaning power is brought onto your premises via hoses with are connected to the cleaning wand its self. Our hoses reach up-to 400feet without loss or power and deliver the clean rinsing solution and remove the soiled solution at the same time to and from our van parked outside.

8) Drying

Although our carpets are left only damp to touch and usually dry within a couple of hours we always try to accelerate the drying process where possible, using a poweful air-mover and by opening windows we increase the airflow within the room which removes moisture and gives you a better drying time.

9) Advice

We will give simple advice to your staff on how best to remove simple stains themselves and can even supply and show your staff how to use the same solutions that we use (at additional cost). We can also advise on a maintenance schedule for your carpets and upholstery, this greatly reduces cost and we can target the heavy traffic carpets for a more regular clean than other carpets insuring that your carpet/upholstery life cycle is maximised.
